CAPITOL CITY BLOCK PARTY

On Saturday, August 24, 2013 from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM, there will be a block party to connect community service providers with those who need services. Our region has tremendous resources. However, many in the community do not know about the services right at their fingertips.
 

The block party is designed to bring community service providers directly to the “block” so that the community can benefit from the free services they can provide.
 

Over 30 social service organizations are featured including: The Golden Rule, United Way, Ellipse Foundation, Department of Veterans Affairs, The Public Health Institute, The Sacramento County Public Defender’s office and many others.
 

There will be LIVE entertainment featuring:
 

      •     DJ Tosh from “Wild” 103.5 FM & 101.9 “The Wolf”

      •     Lawrence Beamon (Finalist from America’s Got Talent)

      •     The Capitol City Singers (Regional Finalists of the Verizon Wireless
            Gospel Competition)

      •     The Gospel Music Workshop of America Sacramento Chapter
            Mass Choir

      •     The New Directions Choir and many others.
 

There will also be FREE food, FREE health screenings, counseling services, veterans’ programs, educational services, the Career Skills Center, and events for children and youth. You don’t want to miss this groundbreaking event!

PLEASE NOTE: Parking is limited to the street only. The event is being hosted in the church parking lot. Shuttle available from New Pleasant Grove Baptist Church at 8011 Lemon Hill Avenue, Sacramento, CA, 95824-3346 and Elder Creek Elementary School at 7934 Lemon Hill Avenue, Sacramento, CA 95824.
